Having pets, especially dogs, need to be carefully considered by the entire family. Whether to have a dog join the family is one decision, and choosing the right type of dog for your home is another. Is anyone in the family allergic to dog hair or dander? There are some dog breeds that don’t shed. Here are three breeds of dogs that do not shed:
The Maltese Dog:
This is one of the most popular dog breeds. It originated in Malta, hence the name. The weight of the dog is not more than 8 pounds. The ideal life span of Maltese is about 12 to 15 years. The Maltese dog has a gorgeous coat that requires a lot of grooming. It has dropped ears, big, brown eyes, a button-like nose, and a rounded skull. It is the personality of this dog that infatuates people. They are very affectionate, loyal and have a very playful character.
The Shih Tzu Dog:
The Shih Tzu is another little dog that doesn’t shed. Because of indiscriminate breeding, these dogs sometimes have breathing problems and undershot or overshot jaws. These little dogs are also the victim of intervertebral disc problems and hypothyroidism problems. These dogs vary in size from 8 lbs to 12 lbs. They are very affectionate dogs and training needs to be consistent as they are very smart but can be a little headstrong. The love children and have lots of energy to play. Their long and silky coat needs constant care.
The Poodle Dog:
The Standard Poodle originated in Germany where it was bred as a water retriever. This is the largest variety of poodle. In England the breed was refined to a miniature and toy size and became a favourite of the rich. Regardless of size, this breed is very intelligent, loyal, and affectionate. If they are brought up with children, they can be very tolerant. However, they have a tendency to become very attached to one person and can be very protective if not disciplined.
